Golly we’re excited about September. For one, it is spring, which is so full of pretty flowers and lengthening days, lovely. And we’re happy to say goodbye to winter, not that we’re against winter in general, but winter 2010 was hard work!
We’re super excited about a couple of new products too, and these ones are just for Petone (some ranges are exclusive to the different stores).
Arriving any day, we have the lovely range of bags from Nancy Bird, from Melbourne. Gorgeous.

We’ve also got an extended range of Nature Baby clothing, all the lovely striped cotton range, all babies should wear stripes: fact.

Design Sponge is a must read, completely brilliant website. It is a fascinating source of inspiration and look into the talents of so many. One of the the features they do is City Guides for various spots around the globe, and lo! Little Wellington is featured today! It is a great article, and really does list the very best this great town has to offer, check it here.

Well, we need to make some space for the gorgeous summer Chalkydigits range, so we’ve slashed the prices. There are still a few lovely bits and bobs left, in particular we have some great skirts in lots of sizes.

Frankly I’m not a very good shop blogger. I went to Melbourne and took about a squillion pictures of my kids, and no pictures of inspirational design and decor, le sigh. Rest assured I saw some brilliant bits and pieces, all made by brilliant, creative people, and I ate lots of yummy food and drank a couple of medicinal Coopers Sparkling Ales each night.
None of the brilliant things I’ve ordered are here yet, so instead I’ll tell you about a bit of Melbourne mooching we did. Our first day we wandered right to the end of Chapel St, it was lovely! Most shops were closed because it was early on a Monday, but while I love my shops, I’m not actually much interested in going into other people’s. It kind of clouds my view, so I just enjoy a bit of people watching, a good coffee and looking at lovely window displays. We spent a few days doing family stuff, the zoo, the museum, Phillip Island, Healesville Sanctuary, and then on almost our last day we went for a meander up Gertrude and Brunswick Sts. They were great, buzzing with activity, drunks, young, old, hip, mums, everyone! And we enjoyed a sit at the lovely Babka Cafe. Holidays are so good.

We’re delighted to be heading over to Melbourne this week for some product sourcing and food eating, and possibly even a little old school relaxin’.
The shops will be brilliantly managed by our wonderful staff, and most orders will be despatched within 24 hours, but occasionally there may be something that can’t go out as quickly as usual. We’re back on Monday the 16th, and everything will be back to normal then.
Now, back to reading up on Prahran, Brunswick St, Chinatown, St Kilda… excited!

We’re super excited about AWESOME AUGUST, and yell out AWESOME AUGUST every chance we get. Next week we’re heading off to Melbourne to source some new products, and we have some treats on the cards! Of course our shops will be cheerfully and charmingly staffed by our great team
Get in quick and grab some lovely gears from Chalkydigits. We’ve still got a great range in both shops, but they won’t last. We’ve also uploaded quite a few products onto the website, but there is actually more in the shops too!

At Wanda Harland we have the very best staff, we’re surrounded by remarkably creative and lovely women. Sally Shand works for us a couple of days a week, and when she isn’t providing top notch service, she is a very talented illustrator.
She designed our banner (well, actually when she designed it, it was for our large sliding door, but now we want to use it everywhere). We’ve uploaded a few of her designs to our stationery page, and you can check out all her designs on her wonderful website.

Loving New Zealand design has its hazards, primarily the fact it is impossible to resist beautiful products, and this week our cup runneth over. We’ve got fabulous new jewellery and cushions from Genevieve Packer, cushions and lamps from Home Base Collections and divine teatowels and cushions from Esther Diamond. Sweeeeeeeet.
